Vows to lead September 24 anti-India rally of Kashmiris

Azad Jammu Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry emphatically said on Tuesday that local bodies elections in the light of orders of the apex court would be held by November this year in Azad Jammu Kashmir in order to transfer power to the masses at grassroots level.

The President was addressing a news conference on the sideline of luncheon, hosted in his honour by Ch. Muhammad Mansha, the local party leader and Director General of Mangla Dam Housing Authority at the Mirpur camp office of the President House.

Barrister Sultan was flanked by AJK minister for Planning & Development Ch. Yasir Sultan, his closest aide and Chairman AJK Zakat & Usher Council Ch. Muhammad Sideeque Advocate, Media Advisor Ch. Ansar Mahmood and other senior officials of Mirpur division and the district administration.

The President expressed the hope that AJK election commission would announce the fresh schedule of holding of the LG polls in AJK which has recently ordered the AJK Election Commission.

“We want the local bodies elections to be held earliest in all circumstances as also ordered by the Supreme Court of AJK for transfer of power to the people at lowest level”, the AJK President said while responding to a question to this scribe.

Referring to continued worsening conditions of the human rights in the bleeding valley of Indian illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir, the AJK President said that US-based Kashmiris will stage a mammoth anti-India protest demonstration in front of the United Nations building in New York on the eve of the address of the India’s fascist Prime Minister Narrindra Modi to the UN General Assembly on September 24 (next month) to apprise the external world of the rising ugly conditions of the IIOJK and the due role the UNO for early peaceful solution of Kashmir issue under the internationally-recognized resolutions on the international dispute, still required to be resolved since over past 74 years, he added.
