Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Shoaib Dastagir has said that the district police officers (DPOs) should devise a security plan for security of Christian community, their worship places and recreational spots keeping in view the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the City Police Office (CPO) on the occasion of Christmas celebrations.
He was addressing officers during a video link conference at Central Police Office here on Monday, in which all regional police officers (RPOs), city police officers (CPOs) and district police officers (DPOs) from all over the province participated through video link.
He ordered for ensuring checking of suspected persons by closed-circuit television cameras, metal detectors and walk-through gates at all entry points of churches of A category, while snipers should also be deputed at rooftops of sensitive churches.
He also ordered for maintaining a close coordination with Rescue-1122, fire brigade.
