The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 24.9% on year-on-year (YoY) basis in July 2022 as compared to the corresponding month of last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported on Monday.
On month-on-month basis, it increased by 4.3% in July 2022 as compared to an increase of 6.3% in the previous month (June) and an increase of 1.3% in July 2021. The CPI inflation Urban increased by 23.6% on year-on-year basis in July 2022 as compared to an increase of 19.8% in the previous month and 8.7% in July 2021.
On month-on-month basis, it increased by 4.5% in July 2022 as compared to an increase of 6.2% in the previous month and an increase of 1.3% in July 2021.
CPI inflation Rural increased by 26.9% on year-on-year basis in July 2022 as compared to an increase of 23.6% in the previous month and 8.0% in July 2021. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 6.6% in July 2022 as compared to an increase of 6.6% in the previous month and an increase of 1.4% in July 2021. —APP
