The tragic incident at Yousuf Goth, Surjani occurred due to a kite coming into contact with K-Electric’s overhead EHT lines and no KE wire was damaged or broken in the vicinity.
While this incident was not triggered by KE infrastructure, it is still a cause of extreme grief and worry for K-Electric and our sympathies rest with the affected families.
In the interest of public safety and to avert such incidents, the power utility has continuously highlighted the importance of maintaining safe distance from electricity infrastructure and has run several large public safety campaigns to raise awareness in this regard, emphasizing that children in particular should be cautioned from playing near electricity installations.
