Two Indian officers killed, four other troops injured in blast

I+n Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, an Indian army captain and a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) were killed and four other army personnel were injured in a grenade blast in Poonch district. The grenade blast took place in Gohlad-Mendhar area of the district.

An accidental grenade blast occurred when the army personnel were on duty along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar area of Poonch late on Sunday night, an Indian army statement said.

The blast resulted in injuries to soldiers who were immediately evacuated by helicopter to Udhampur and during the treatment one officer and one JCO succumbed to their injuries, the statement added.

The deceased Indian army officers have been identified as Captain Anand and Naib Subedar Bhagwan Singh.—KMS
