Qul for Kashmiri journalist held

Qul for the departed soul of noted Kashmiri journalist Shaikh Muhammad Lateef was held in Ghauri Town area of Islamabad, today. He was associated with Kashmir Media Service as sub editor.

A large number of people belonging to different walks of life including Hurriyat AJK leaders, members of Kashmiri community, politicians, journalists and lawyers held Quran Khawani and prayed for the soul of deceased. They prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with patience. The Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, led the special prayer for the deceased.

Addressing on the occasion, the speakers paid rich tribute to Shaikh Muhammad Lateef for his contribution and sacrifices for the Kashmir cause.

As a journalist, Shaikh Muhammad Lateef highlighted the Indian atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He hailed from Srinagar, the summer capital of IIOJK, and Indian atrocities on him forced him to migrate to Pakistan in 1990s.

He was suffering from various ailments including kidney problem and passed away at CMH Rawalpindi on Friday.
