Officials warned of fake reporting of Dengue prevention activities

Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique gave a final warning to the officers to stop fake reporting of dengue prevention activities. Khawaja Salman Rafique while presiding over the meeting of Provincial Dengue Monitoring Committee in Darbar Hall of Civil Secretariat issued instructions.

Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal reviewed the anti-dengue activities during the meeting.

The meeting was attended by secretaries of various departments and all commissioners and deputy commissioners.

All concerned secretaries submitted detailed reports to the provincial minister and chief secretary regarding anti-dengue activities. Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan, Additional IG Special Branch and Chairman PITB presented performance reports of all the districts regarding dengue prevention activities.

Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said on this occasion that the dengue situation in Punjab is being monitored continuously. All departments have to play their role in controlling dengue. We can control dengue with hard work. He appealed to the people to strictly adopt precautionary measures against dengue. Complaints of false reporting of dengue prevention activities are intolerable. The responsibility of cleaning in the field offices lies with the concerned departments. All secretaries should monitor the dashboard themselves. We all have to work for the people of Punjab like a family. Along with dengue, we have to defeat corona by making sure to use masks. Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz is himself monitoring the steps to control dengue. Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal directed the departments to improve their performance regarding dengue. Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal said that It is matter of concern that more dengue cases have been reported this year than last year. Departments should ensure implementation of SOPs related to dengue, and negligence would not be acceptable in this regard. Government departments, and civil society must all work together to control dengue. One’s negligence can lead to the failure of joint efforts against dengue. Action should be taken against the officials who are misreporting anti-dengue activities.
