Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon chaired a meeting that reviewed the arrangements for the Hajj pilgrimage being made by the concerned departments of provincial and federal level governments and other allied organizations at his office.
Meeting was attended among others by the Senior Officials of city administration district administrations, local bodies including DMCs, Water and Sewerage Board , Solid Waste Management board, Police, Pakistan Rangers, Anti Narcotics department Health department, Civil Aviation Authority , Pakistan Customs and FIA.
Director Hajj Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah , Deputy Commissioner Keamari Mukhtar Abro, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tabrez Mari, Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Commissioner Karachi Office- Sara Amjad were also present in the meeting.
Director Hajj Imtiaz Ali Shah briefed the commissioner about the training programme conducted by the department of Hajj at Haji Camp in detail.
Concerned departments also briefed the Commissioner about their efforts for the arrangements of civic facilities to be provided at the Haji camp to facilitate during their stay at the hajj pilgrimage.
They also briefed the meeting regarding the arrangement made for their departure. Commissioner directed the concerned departments to make all out efforts for the facilitation of Hajj Pilgrimages at the haji camp as well as for their departure by fulfilling all necessary and legal requirements.
Director Haj told the meeting that 7400 hajj pilgrimage of from Sindh government scheme would travel to the holy city of Mecca for performance of hajj.
He told that the training was conducted twenty two hajj pilgrimage that included both government scheme and private scheme hajj pilgrimage.
He also told the meeting that the departure would start from June 8. It was decided in the meeting that the effective security and safety measures would be ensured to the hajj pilgrimage during their stay at Haji camp as well as during their travel from the haji camp to the airport.
Special measures would be made by the police to provide safety of hajj pilgrimage to reach the airport from the camp Meeting also decided that the Water and sewerage board would resolve the issues of sewerage at the Haji camp while the other concerned departments would carry out their jobs of cleanliness , installation of street lights and supply of water etc It was also decided that the K electric would ensure the supply of electricity uninterrupted at the haji camp till they are staying there.
It was also decided that for providing health care facility a makeshift dispensary would be set up at the camp In this regard city administration would make arrangements with the support of health depart.
