EC should take notice of rigging in bye-polls

Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif on Monday condemned firing incidents and violence against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers during in local government re-polling in North Waziristan. The bye-elections on tehsil chairmen seats in LG polls were held on Sunday in North Waziristan.

He said that no party could be allowed to use force and violence against rival political party. He said that the Election Commission should take notice of rigging and violence by armed groups and goons of the political party.

Meanwhile, Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation, Muhammad Iqbal Wazir in a statement alleged that JUI- F candidates in Shewa and Mirali tehsils openly displayed weapons and resorted to firing on bye-election day to disrupt peaceful voting process. A nephew of Muhammad Iqbal Wazir was killed in a firing incident a few days ago.—APP
