Farmers expressed concerns over the reduction of crop yield caused by draught this year. They also called on the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock to provide them with higher quality seeds.
“In the previous year it was good, we were having good crops of wheat, but this year we are faced with drought. There is no water and water canals are dry,” said Abdul Ahad, a farmer.
“The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock has not provided us with the quality seeds. We want them to provide us with quality seeds so we can earn good crops,” said Naseem, a farmer. The farmers also expressed concerns over the increase in the price of fertilizer.—Tolo News
