The Task Force on Agriculture has directed its offi-cers to keep a close watch on the supply and demand of fertilisers and pesticides.
Additional Secretary Rana Ali Arshad chaired a meeting of the task force and directed the officers to minutely monitor the situation of the fertilisers and pesticides supply in the province and update daily the dashboard established in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). The step would help the government curb shortage of fertilisers, he said.
Mr Arshad added that in order to ensure the supply of quality fertilisers and pesticides to the farmers at the fixed rates, all officers should ensure 100pc sampling of the supplies in all markets and the remote villages. The fertiliser companies should also be directed to correct their delivery records, he said.
