Heads roll as CM Hamza takes notice of question papers’ leakage in Pindi

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz on Friday took a strict notice of leakage of papers for exams being conducted by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Rawalpindi.

The chief minister suspended Rawalpindi Board chairman Dr Khalid Mehmood and controller examinations Shahenshah Babar Khan. Shahenshah Babar Khan was suspended under Peda Act for negligence of duty.

Assistant Professor Nasir Mehmood Awan of Government Gordon College, Rawalpindi has been given the additional charge of controller examinations. Rawalpindi Commissioner Noorul Amin Mengal has been given the additional charge of chairman Rawalpindi Board.

On the directions of Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz, a special committee has been set up to inquire into the issue.

Prof Dr Muhammad Shafiq, Director External Linkages at University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore will be the convener of the committee.

Director Admin DPI Colleges Sahibzada Faisal Khurshid and a cybercrime expert from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will join the committee. The committee will identify the reasons for the papers’ leakage. It will also identify those who are responsible.

The committee will also make recommendations to prevent leakage of papers in future, and it will submit a report to the chief minister in seven days
