Three-day Punjab Mining Expo starts

The first ever three-day Punjab Mining Expo was inaugurated under the auspices of Mines & Minerals Department. Samar Mubarakmand, Chairman Board of Governors of Punjab Mineral Company inaugurated the event.

The expo is being held at the International Expo Center Lahore. Additional Secretary Sarah Rashid, Deputy Secretary Atika Ammar Bukhari and all other officers are also attending the conference led by Secretary MMD Punjab Muhammad Ali Ammer.

Punjab Mining Expo 2022 is attended by the Secretaries of all the Provincial Mines and Minerals Departments and their officers.

Investors and individuals from Sindh, Balochistan, KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir affiliated to the firlelds of mining and minerals are also participating in the expo. For the very first time, all the provincial departments have set up stalls of minerals discovered in their respective provinces. Jewelry made of ornaments and precious stones is also being offered for the interest of women.

Homemade decorative items made from salt are also on display at the expo.

A Mining Conference was also organized on the first day of the Expo in which investors were provided information about the minerals found in Pakistan especially in Punjab. The conference also encouraged local and foreign investors in the mining sector.

The secretaries from all the provinces also gave presentations based on the minerals found in their provinces.

Later, Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Secretary of Punjab Mines & Minerals Department and other Provincial Minerals Departments to work on a partnership basis on mineral exploration and mineral development issues.

It may be recalled that Punjab Mining Expo is the first Mining Expo in the history of the country which will continue till May 21.
