Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar on Wednesday categorically said that neither Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Hamza Shehbaz nor Prime Minister was going to resign after the Supreme Court’s Tuesday verdict.
He expressed these views while talking to the media in Hafizabad. He was of the view that even after the supreme Court verdict nobody could remove them from their seats and federal and provincial governments would complete their remaining term.
The apex court, while interpreting Article 63-A, yesterday had said that the votes of any political party’s turncoats would not be counted.
The verdict cast doubts on the election of Hamza as Punjab chief minister who, besides the PML-N MPAs, also owed his win to the votes cast in his favour by the PTI dissidents.
