The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday suspended Jhang deputy commissioner’s (DC) decision wherein he had imposed fine of Rs80 million on the focal person for the Qatari princes for destroying crops during hunting in the district.
The DC had also summoned the accused to appear before him on May 26, 2022. Justice Shahid heard the petition filed by the focal person, Ghulam Hussain Magsi.
Opposing the imposition of fine on the focal person, Rana Intezar Hussain Advocate argued there was no justification for that step since his client had nothing to do with the destruction of crops.
“It would have been better if the DC had fined the princes,” he said, and prayed to the court to declare the decision null and void.
