Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights Mr. Veerji Kolhi has said that International Human Rights Day is a historic occasion and a great day for all the people throughout the world who want peace, harmony, justice and rights. But the fundamental rights of the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir must be restored, he said and demand that according to the charter of United Nation, international communities and world powers should raise their voice against Indian atrocities with Kashmiris on this special day.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with the International Human Rights Day organized by Sindh Human Rights Department in Karachi on Tuesday with a slogan to have a pledge to strive for the rights of the Kashmiris, Veerji Kolhi said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) always takes keen interest in human rights issues and always stress commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights.
He also said that it has been the consistent endeavor of the Human Rights Department to safeguard human rights of individuals and communities across province of Sindh and to create an enabling environment for the realization of not only civil and political rights, but also secure to the people of the country, social and economic justice, in consonance with the spirit of the Pakistan’s constitution.—INP
