Directs to reactivate price control committees
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Tuesday directed the authorities concerned to strictly implement one-dish orders at wedding ceremonies in all districts of Punjab including Lahore.
While chairing a meeting, the Punjab chief minister said that violation of one-dish orders at wedding ceremonies would not be tolerated in any case, adding that the violators would be dealt with according to the law.
“This move of the government will bring relief to the common man and the white-collar class,” said Hamza Shehbaz.
“Our government is the government of the common man. We will take every step that will make life easier for the common man and the white-collar community,” added he.
Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz also said that the administration should play a proactive role to ensure the government’s one-dish orders at wedding ceremonies.
“I will personally review the implementation of one-dish orders on a daily basis.”
MPAs including Abdul Aleem Khan, Sardar Awais Leghari, Ch Iqbal, Bilal Yasin, Kh Imran Nazir, Ramazan Siddique Bhatti, Punjab chief secretary, inspector general of police, and other officers concerned attended the meeting.
Member Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and PML-N leader Attaullah Tarar attended the meeting via a video link from Islamabad.
Meanwhile, on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Hamza Shahbaz, the district price control committees would be reactivated.
The CM chaired a meeting at his office on Tuesday to review the prices of essential items. MPAs namely Abdul Aleem Khan, Sardar Awais Leghari, Ch. Muhammad Iqbal, Bilal Yasin, Kh. Imran Nazir, Ramzan Siddique Bhatti, chief secretary, IG police, ACS (Home), administrative secretaries and others attended the meeting while Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan MPA and PMLN leader Ata Ullah Tarar participated through video link from Islamabad.
The CM directed to notify price control committees of energetic persons and added that the prices should be reduced by holding result-oriented dialogues with sugar, flour, ghee and poultry associations. He further directed to devise a comprehensive plan to decrease the prices of essential items.
This plan should be finalized without delay and rate lists should be conspicuously displayed in shops; he added and repeated that a comprehensive price control policy should be finalized because the government was focused on providing relief to the common man. The common man is facing difficulties, due to inflation, as the middle class has been crushed due to the wrong policies of the past government.
This government would provide relief to the citizens at every cost; he stated and added that market committees should also be activated. No one would be allowed illegal profiteering and hoarding, and indiscriminate action should be initiated against them, he expressed.
The administration should actively deliver substantial relief to the masses and every step should be taken for this purpose.
The public interest would be fully protected as it was dear to the government, he concluded.
