Samsung Electronics’ global citizenship programs conclude

Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), the latest of Samsung Electronics’ global citizenship programs launched in Lahore, Pakistan in 2021 ended the other day. Through a fully funded 3-month course, the program aimed to equip young students with knowledge on Artificial Intelligence to enhance their employment prospects and to help them gain a practical education in technologies.

The closing ceremony of the first successfully completed phase of Samsung Innovation Campus was held at Akhuwat College for Boys, Kasur. As part of their Global Corporate Citizenship program, Samsung Pakistan trained undergraduate students on Artificial Intelligence with the goal to help youth in learning future-proof skills.

Furthermore, keeping in line with its goal to prepare the youth for a technologically driven future, Samsung sponsored 45 desktop systems to upgrade the computer lab at the college.

The students’ training, which was completed in 240 hours over a period of 6 months focused on enhancing ideation, and soft skills such as project management and problem-solving skills in order to help them become professionals who can cater to future challenges proficiently.

45 students graduated and received certificates presented by Mr. Roy Chang – MD Samsung Pakistan, and Dr. Huma Mirza – Director AES, Akhuwat. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Aamir Suleman – Director Finance & GA, and Ms. Zenobia Kashif – Corporate Citizenship Manager from Samsung, and Mr. Phil Straw – Senior School Principal, Akhuwat College, and Mr. Asim Ehsan – HOD Economics Department, Akhuwat College.
