Visitors cram recreational places on Eid

Lahorites celebrated Eidul Fitr with traditional fes-tivity as a large number of citizens thronged public parks and other recreational places including Lahore Zoo, cinemas, Lahore Fort, etc. during Eid holidays.

Children were seen purchasing toys and playing in streets while adults were seen greeting their friends. Eid festivity started ith the first day of Eid when citizens started visiting public parks and other rec-reational places with their friends and families. La-hore Zoo, Model Town Park, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, Nawaz Sharif Park, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Jallo Park, Safari Park, Racecourse Park, Lahore ort and Shalimar Gardens were thronged with picnickers.

On the first day of Eid, big entertainment programs, crowds at entertainment venues, children’s enter-tainment at Lahore Zoo doubled the fun of Eid.

Citizens flocked to the parks in large numbers, fami-lies in large numbers also reached the zoo, some took camel rides, some enjoyed electronic elephants, children played with their favorite animals.

The children said that after Eid prayers, we have come to the zoo to see our favorite animals. During the tour of the zoo, hands were thoroughly cleaned along with taking pictures with birds and animals. All entrances of Lahore Zoo and roads leading to Safari Park were packed with traffic and wardens were busy controlling traffic. Zoo officials said they earned around Rs 1.5 million in first two days of Eid holidays.

Greater Iqbal Park was also jam packed as thousands of citizens thronged to see the newly-inaugurated National History Museum and light show at the park.

Following the rush of visitors, Azadi Chowk was jam packed till Data Darbar and traffic wardens failed to restore traffic till late at night.

Cinemas and kids play lands having electronic swings, video games and other joy rides were also jam packed. Ice cream parlors, fast food restaurants, coffee shops and other eating spots witnessed ex-traordinary rush of people during the next two days of Eid holidays.

Many people invited their families and friends to their homes for parties in which traditional Lahori dish and sweets, including Kheer, Siwainyan, Kebabs, BBQ, mutton chops, Tikka Boti, Malai Boti, Biryani, Pulao, Quorma, etc. were served. Mall Road, MM Alam Road, Fortress Stadium and many other city areas witnessed traffic jams.
