Member Provincial Assembly, Punjab, Dr. Mazafar Ali Sheikh has said that libraries are custodian of past culture and recordoom of any civilization as well as to plays vital role in dissemination of knowledge and to transfer the value of the past culture among people.
He expressed these views while visiting District Public Library Hafizabad, on Saturday. He said that promotion of education was pivotal for national progress and prosperity and present government would focus on promotion of quality education in the country.
While expressing his satisfaction over arrangements of books and cleanliness of the library, he said that District Public Library Hafizabad was the best facility for the people of the area. He promised that all out efforts would be made to ensure provision of further facilities and to convert this library into a centre of information and knowledge.
Moreover, in order to provide job opportunities to special children after completing their education and training in private sector, the District Administration Hafizabad and Embroidery Association has evolved a first ever in its nature and revolutionary programme. So that special children could enable to earn their own livelihood in respectable manners instead of indulge in social evils.
This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Asif Raza while addressing a ceremony held here. Chief Executive Officer Education Javed Iqbal Babar, representatives of embroidery association, principal special education school and civil society also attended the function.
DC said that special children would be made useful citizens of the country to provide jobs opportunities and special children were not less than other children because they have God gifted abilities.
