Bank employees’ stage protest against ending Saturday holiday

Bank employees opposed the decision of newly  elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of ending the Saturday Holiday in  the banking sector.

As per details, the bank employees staged a protest outside the State  Bank of Pakistan building in Karachi on Friday. Due to the protest of the bank employees, the flow of traffic on the  surrounding roads including II Chandragar Road has been severely affected. Protesters say we are human beings, we should not be oppressed. We will  not work 6 days a week, we need a week off. Protesters demand that the  Prime Minister announce the immediate restoration of Saturday’s holiday.

The protesters demanded the restoration of weekends and the restoration  of Ramadan working hours. The employees of various banks protested  outside the SBP and chanted slogans  Chanted in favour of their holiday, the demonstrators said that new  working hours are not acceptable in any case.

The demonstrators said the branches which are open on Saturdays were  given extra wages to their staff but now they have been deprived of it.They also announced holding the protest on daily bases. Due to the  protest, traffic on the road was badly affected.
