Serena Hotel’s Corporate Iftar brings diplomats, business community, parliamentarians all at one table

With a significant drop in coronavirus cases, people of Islamabad are celebrating different events, particularly Iftar dinners, these days outside their homes as life has returned to Islamabad’s restaurants and cafes.

For members of the diplomatic corps and for the business community particularly, these Iftar dinners provide an opportunity to get together and establish close business and personal links.

Islamabad Serena Hotel’s annual feature, the Corporate Iftar Dinner, that was suspended for the last two years due to Covid-19, Thursday provided such an occasion of get together and a large number of guests including members of diplomatic corps, business community, government officials, heads of international agencies and corporate executives, members of the armed forces, parliamentarians from the treasury and the opposition benches dignitaries attended the Iftar dinner and enjoyed the Pakistani as well as the continental and a variety of food.

The CEO of Serena Hotels Mr. Aziz Boolani and his spouse, Wiqar Boolani hosted the Annual Corporate Iftar Dinner last evening. This Iftar Dinner also coincided with the 20 years of Islamabad Serena Hotel’s successful operations.

Held at the grand Sheesh Mahal banquet hall at the Islamabad Serena Hotel, the intricate setup was reminiscent of magnificence and luxury. A variety of different cuisines was served including but not limited to Pakistani, Middle Eastern, East Asian and Continental. An opulent canopy embedded with flowers covered the Aangan area outside the Sheesh Mahal, featuring live stations serving shawarma and live barbecue, right off the grill.

The centre of the ballroom was dedicated to dessert, with a grand display of choices ranging from profiteroles, to tarts, to Pakistani mithai and more. For healthy diet lovers, there was a display of fresh salads and nutritious options as well.

The visitors enjoyed the iftar dinner in a tranquil setting with live folk music, while the evening highlighted memories of Serena’s history of impeccable service and excellent standards.

We are open and we welcome the guests to the Serena Hotels’ exquisite dining halls to relish their taste buds with the freshly cooked continental and the Pakistani dishes, said a chef of the hotel.

Executive Editor of Pakistan Observer Gauhar Zahid Malik, CEO of OTV, Omer Malik and Chief Digital Strategist Fahd Malik also attended the Iftar dinner and congratulated CEO Boolani and his team on the 20th anniversary of the hotel.

Among the noted guests included Leader of the House in Senate Dr Wasim Shehzad, Ambassador of Indonesia Adam M Tugio, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov, Ambassador of Palestine, Ahmed Jawad Amine Rabei , Ambassador of Morocco Mohamed Karmoune, High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Ruhul Alam Siddique, Turkish Ambassador Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Romanian Ambassador Nicolas Goia, Ambassador of Bosnia Herzegovina Saqib Foric, Swedish Ambassador Henrik Persson, Ambassador of France Nicolas Galey, Zafar Bakhtawari and others.
