Ambassador of Turkey Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul and his wife on Wednesday visited the Pakistan Baitul Mal (PBM) head office and distributed ration bags and gifts among the poor and the deserving persons. President Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Muhsin Balci was also accompanying the couple.
Director Administration PBM, Dr. Zafar Khan Safdar received the dignitaries upon their arrival and briefed them about the PBM’s operation across the country.
While addressing the ceremony, Ambassador of Turkey Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul highlighted the cordial relations between the two countries and reiterated his embassy’s continuous support for humanitarian causes and help for the needy people.
It is our moral and religious obligation to extend help and assistance to those who need our help not only in this holy month of Ramazan but throughout the year, said the ambassador.
President TIKA, Muhsin Balci in his address, highlighted the importance of the goodwill gesture saying it meant a great deal for the poor persons during the holy month. He also appreciated the PBM’s proactive role to access the marginalized segments of the country. He also assured to distribute as many as 1,000 Ration Bags among the deserving persons during holy month.
Earlier, Director Administration PBM, Dr. Zafar Khan Safdar received the guests and expressed his gratitude for their generous support during the Holy Month. Terming the initiative an act of kindness that also reflected the bond of friendship and affection between the people of Pakistan and Turkey.
He also underlined the various PBM-TIKA collaborative efforts to bring comfort to the lives of the poor and the under-privileged of the country.
The Turkish ambassador and his wife also commended the PBM’s efforts to provide shelter, food and education to the poor and the deserving classes of society.
