Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Friday that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government had done nothing except telling lies to the nation.
Addressing a press conference along with another PML-N leader Miftah Ismael here, he claimed that the PML-N did not make excuses but resolved people’s issues. “Today, we have 12-hour loadshedding in the country. NEPRA says that there is 5, 400 megawatts of electricity shortfall,” he regretted.
Former prime minister wondered when this was the situation in March and April when there were not extreme temperatures in the country, what would happen in June and July, the hottest months in a year.
Abbasi regretted that the government had increased the power tariff. “The government transferred four cheaper power houses to diesel,” he deplored.
He said it was unfortunate that Prime Minister Imran Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister and federal ministers participated in electioneering for the local bodies’ elections in the province.—INP
