Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that children are the future of any country and those working for their protection are our heroes.
This was stated by him while speaking after formally inaugurating a campaign for the protection of children under the name of “Save Our Children” at Governor House Lahore on Friday. Ex MNA and Advisor to Governor Punjab, Ms. Onaza Ehsan Butt will be the incharge of the campaign. The campaign will also ensure the enrollment and protection of out-of-school children along with other measures.
On this occasion, Onaza Ehsan Butt, UNICEF Representative Mr. Willboard, Miss Maheen Rashid, Barrister Fatima Shaheen, Saeed Al Hassan, social worker Jahan Ara Wattoo, Dr. Muhammad Zaman, Amna Wattoo along with others were present.
While addressing the ceremony, Chaudhry Sarwar congratulated Onaza Ehsan Butt and her team on the inauguration of a campaign for the protection of children and said that children are the future of any country and those who are working for their protection are our heroes. Among other priorities of the government, establishing a non-extremist society and eliminating child abuse is also our top priority because the future of Pakistan is associated with our children.
He said, “I reaffirm my commitment to protect the rights of children so that they can become constructive members of society and good citizens.”
Governor Punjab further said that children are the most valuable asset of any nation and guarantor of its prosperous future, adding that the Government of Pakistan is well aware of its responsibilities towards its children and is committed to ensure the children right of development, education, health care, dignity, and security under the United Nations Convention.
