In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the upsurge in the cordon and search operations carried out by Indian occupation forces and said that these repressive measures are designed to suppress the freedom sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The derogatory language used to humiliate the innocent people and displaying military arrogance to suppress the voice for their inalienable right to self determination is an effort, in vain, to yield anything favourable to India.”
Despite the use of brute military force against the people, so for, their morale and valour regarding their sacred cause of freedom from Indian illegal occupation remains invincible, the statement added. “The heavy deployment of more than one million occupation troops used against the civil population demanding their legitimate rights is a brazen violation of International law and Human Rights Charter of 1948, adopted by United Nations,” it maintained.
The APHC denounced the arbitrary arrests during the frequent cordon and search operations and said that thousands of innocent people have been thrown in jails without any legal trial. “The rule of law has been tarnished and an absolute autocratic rule and undeclared martial law has been imposed to subdue the freedom loving people of Kashmir,” it added. The APHC urged the United Nations Council for Human Rights and other human rights organisations to impress upon India to allow them to visit the besieged Kashmiri people to take stock of the grim situation prevailing in the territory.
Meanwhile, Advocate Devender Singh Behl, leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, in a statement issued in Jammu said that no minority in India is safe from the fascist government of Narendra Modi and the goons of RSS and BJP. He said that Bharatiya Janata Party is hell-bent on converting India into a Hindu state. He strongly condemned the mistreatment of Muslim students by the Indian government and administration in Karnataka and other areas.—KMS
