The British government on Tuesday, February 15 announced that they will co-host a virtual United Nations summit that is aimed at raising $4.4 billion to address the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, British Foreign Minister Liz Truss the summit would focus on delivering shelter, food, and health services, in particular for women and girls who have been sidelined since the Taliban takeover. “The conference is a critical moment for the inter-national community to step up support in an effort to stop the growing humanitarian crisis in Afghani-stan.
