Rs 5.4m sub-standard fertilizer confiscated

Spokesman of Agriculture Department disclosed that under directions of Chief Minister, Punjab Sardar Usman Ahmed Buzdar, Agriculture Task Force is being cracking down against those who are involved in the manufacturing/ sale of counterfeit and substandard pesticides and fertilizers across the province.

So far as, during January 2022, seventeen places have been raided and 17 FIRs have been registered while 06 persons arrests have been made and worth of 5.4 million adulterated pesticides and sub-standard fertilizers confiscated.

Spokesman further said that the mafia selling counterfeit agricultural inputs is being dealt with iron hands and those involved in this heinous business are being punished as per law. In this regard, Zero tolerance policy is being followed by Agriculture Department and all possible actions are being taken to root out this business.

The spokesman added that the public can lodge complaints against the elements selling substandard agricultural inputs via SMS / WhatsApp on 0300-2955539. Action is taken within 24 hours of receipt.
