In a crackdown against the kite sellers and kite flyers 23 persons were arrested from different localities of the city while 3457 kites and dozens of roles of twins were also seized.
The police stated that various localities of the city were raided during which the Kotwali police arrested Nabeel with 405 kites, the Cantt police held Ali and Faizan with 10 kites and 4 roles of twain, the Hajipura police arrested Hamza, Kashif, Qasim, Jamal and Wasim Khan with 415 kites, the Nekapura police arrested Ishfaq with 10 kites and 2 roles of twain, the Rangpura police nabbed Fahad with 10 kites, the Uggoki police arrested Mubashar, Abdullah, Pervez, Shahid, Faisal and Farrukh Rasheed with 1920 kites and 20 roles of twain, the Muradpur police arrested Jamil, Jahanzeb and Tanvir Masih with 86 kites and 7 roles of twain, the Moutrah police arrested Kalabi, Faizan Masih and Salman with 610 kites and the Kotli Said Ameer police arrested Nazar Abbas with one kite and a role of twain. Cases have been registered against all the accused.
On the other hand three persons were separately arrested after hashish and heroin were recovered from them. The police stated that routine patrolling the Uggoki police arrested Aurangzeb with 1.82 kg hashish, Kashif Kamran with 1.46 kg heroin and Imran with 520 g hashish and registered cases against them.
