The incarcerated Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Masarrat Aalam Butt, has thanked the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for observing complete shutdown and ex-emplary civil curfew on the martyrdom anniversa-ries of the prominent martyred Kashmiri leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru.
Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru were hanged without fair trial in the Tihar jail to satisfy the collective conscience of India.
Masarrat Aalam Butt in his message from New Delhi’s infamous Tihar jail termed the observance of complete shutdown in the occupied territory as an eye-opener for Indian fascist rulers, who have de-ployed over one million troops for carrying out a systematic genocide and silencing the voice of the people for their inalienable right to self-determination. He said India must read the writing on the wall and the pulse of Kashmiri people which has always been beating for complete end of the Indian illegal occupation on their motherland.
Referring to the clear stand adopted by APHC that the people of Kashmir should be allowed to decide their political future in accordance with the United Nations resolutions, the APHC Chairman said the stubbornness displayed by India is solely responsible for any possible nuclear collusion in South Asia and the present critical situation prevail-ing in IIOJK.
Masarrat Aalam Butt maintained that a political issue having indigenous support of the overwhelm-ing majority of the people could not be resolved by military power which has utterly failed to bring desired results to the occupier for the last 74 years. “We are highly indebted to the precious sacrifices of our lacs of martyrs who have imprinted the title of our freedom struggle with their sacred blood,” he said
The APH Chairman urged the United Nations to hold India accountable for genocide, extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests and human rights abuses perpetrated by its troops in IIOJK and help resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspira-tions of the Kashmiri people.—KMS
