Elahi urges opposition to play role for strengthening democracy

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Friday urged the opposition parties to play their role for strengthening democracy in the country and serving the poor.

Talking to a former member of Punjab Assembly (MPA), ticket holders and independent candidates, who met with him and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid Secretary General (Punjab) Sen-ator Kamil Ali Agha in Lahore, and announced their decision to join the party, Elahi opined that the country could not afford a political crisis at this point in time.
