The capital market on Wednesday successfully carried forward its positive momentum from the previous session with the benchmark KSE-100 index closing at 46,339.76 after gaining 391.81 points.
The index remained positive throughout the session touching an intraday high of 46,408.83 as investors confidently cherry-picked blue chips stocks, as per a market closing note by Topline Securities. Of the 96 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 77 closed up 16 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 125.21 million shares.
Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 124 points, Fertilizer with 74 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 43 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 26 points and Cement with 22 points.
The most points added to the index was by BAHL which contributed 56 points followed by ENGRO with 48 points, TLTP
