Provincial minister for Industries and Commerce & Cooperative Department has said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government, led by Selected PM , has brought highest price hike in the country, particularly in Sindh, where laborers and poor people have been hit hard and they can even not afford two day meal easily.
He added, “The price hike has not only hit poor people and laborers hard but also affected business and elite class people, and all this is due to wrong economic policies of the federal government,” This he said while taking notice of an investigative report made by journalist M Nawaz Khuhro that has published in a section of press.
The report titled “Karachi hit by highest price hike in Pakistan’s history” has exposed the failure of economic target of the federal government mentioning as ‘Pakistan Economic Survey 2019 says the fiscal year 2018-19 witnessed a muted growth of 3.29% against the ambitious target of 6.2%.
The recent report of the World Bank said that Pakistan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth slowed to 3.3 percent in FY19 with a 2.2 percentage points decline compared to the previous year’.
The rising of gas prices to skyrocketing level and dollar value rise had caused skyrocketing price hike in Karachi and other areas of the country, breaking the backbone of Pakistan economy and poor people. There is dire need to control price hike on immediate basis by taking all political parties on board besides taking business community into confidence. Jam Ikramuallah Dharejo said that All Pakistan Peoples Party governments had so far adopted people-friendly policies and had taken care of common people by keeping prices of essential commodities at their reach level, but the PTI government, which raised slogans of bringing “Naya Pakistan”, had failed to deliver in almost all sectors of economy as thousands of employees from industries and media had been sacked ruthlessly due to worst federal regime policies.
He was of the opinion that the people belonging to all segments of the society have now fed up with the PTI government’s policies; therefore, the prime minister should resign morally for the sake of survival of people.—INP
