For the past many years, India’s economy is showing downward trend unveiling the original picture of so-called Shining India.

The hardest hit are landless labourers now fac-ing lay-offs and bitter struggles to find paid work in the present-day India under Modi, said a report re-leased by Kashmir Media Service.

As their household incomes have dropped, many families are cutting back on nutritious foods such as milk, eggs, fruit, vegetables and lentils, and instead mainly consuming subsidised grain sold by the government.

Recently, 15 job openings saw 11,000 appli-cants in Madhya Pradesh state. How can India claim to be shining when its millions of people, around 1/3rd of the world, are facing extreme poverty?

Besides, the country is witnessing rising unem-ployment, illiteracy and poverty; vast majority of people has limited access to health and hygiene. Filth and trash is spread all over India as the country has the highest number of people without access to toilets debunking shining India claims.

Growing mass unemployment, low wages and incomes in India are symptoms of struggling econ-omy while Modi govt has failed to strengthen the foundations of basic governance in the past eight years.

The fact is, Muslims and other religious minori-ties are struggling to breathe in Modi’s so-called shining India where heinous attacks by Hindu fanat-ics on minorities have become routine in Modi’s India.—KMS
