PARB awards Rs 44.947m research grant

Punjab Agricultural Research Board (PARB) awarded Rs 44.947 million research grant through competitive grant system (CGS) to 4 soil scientist of 4 different universities/research institutes in collaboration for the “Preparation and commercialization of coated micronutrients and control release fertilizers for improving yield and quality of crops”.

In a collaborative project of three years Dr. Azhar Hussain Assistant Professor Department of Soil Science the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan awarded 9.341 million rupees, Dr. Qudsia Nazir Scientific Officer Ayub Agriculture Research Institute (AARI) Faisalabad awarded 16.5 million rupees, Dr. Saba Jamil Assistant Professor Department of Chemistry, University of Agriculture Faisalabad awarded 7.794 million rupees, Dr. Sajid Mahmood Senior Scientist Nuclear Institute for Agriculture and Biology (NIAB) Faisalabad awarded 11.312 million rupees.

Five different fertilizer companies are also in collaborating the describe project for final formulation of the products (Engro Fertilizer Limited Lahore, Fouji Fertilizer Company Ltd, First Biotech LLC associate of NIHA CROP Ontario California USA, AYAN Crop Sciences Pakistan and Filtech International, Pakistan.
