Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Information and Spokesperson to the Punjab Government, Hasaan Khawar on Friday said that manifesto and trademark of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was to move beyond the mindset of development in specific areas and to bring the fruits of development to every city, town and village.

He said the appointment of Sardar Usman Buzdar as the Chief Minister of Punjab by Prime Minister Imran Khan was a step towards the fulfilment of same vision. He said that from 2013 to 2018, almost half of Punjab’s Rs. 1700 billion funds were spent on Lahore, thus criminally neglecting other areas and districts.

Hasaan Khawar stated that the first phase of DG Khan Institute of Cardiology, which was planned a year and a half ago, would be launched in April this year. In addition, the people of South Punjab are reaping the benefits of development with the improvement of infrastructure, new schools, the first women’s university, modern bus terminals and shelter homes.

He expressed these views while talking to media persons regarding NORM scheme for distribution of free masks here at DGPR on Friday. He said that the main objective of this scheme is to distribute free face masks and to spread awareness among the people. In this campaign, Pakistan has the support of leading local and international educational institutes such as LUMS, Yale, and Stanford University.

The Special Assistant to CM on Information said that due to the best policies of the government during the Corona, Pakistan remained at the top in the Normalcy Index of the renowned journal, Economist, and the government is pursuing the mission of economic sustainability with more such initiatives.

On this occasion, he said that the government has gone beyond photo-shoot governance and is committed to real public service, under which funds are being spent under smart investment where they are needed. In response to a question, he said that there were many question marks on the medical reports received from Nawaz Sharif. Mian Nawaz Sharif will be repatriated by removing the ambiguities in the said report.

Responding to a question about the scarcity of a particular drug in the market, Hasaan Khawar said that it was very unfortunate that profiteering and hoarding by some elements was taking place on such critical occasions.
