SSGC management met with Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and delegation of trade associations and industrial bodies at the Governor House, Karachi today. Besides other issues, use of heavy/ strong suction boosters by the industrial units was also discussed. Governor Sindh took serious notice of this blatant violation and an unethical practice that is severely affecting the gas supply system in Karachi.

It should be noted that the use of suction boosters is tantamount to committing gas theft as additional gas drawn by Suction Boosters affects the metering system and its measuring capability.

On the occasion, SSGC Management presented a list of around 189 industries suspected to be involved in the use of illegal suction devices. The Governor ordered immediate disconnection of gas to all such units involved in this criminal activity.
