The participants of consultative meet-ing on Friday reviewed party affairs and suggestions regarding local-bodies elections. Various options were dis-cussed in detail as the participants pre-sented their views about local bodies elections. Other issues related to local bodies elections were also debated.
The meeting was held under Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office with the special participa-tion of Foreign Minister Shah Meh-mood Qureshi.
The meeting was also attended by Provincial Ministers Raja Basharat, Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed and concerned officials while Federal Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar and Provincial Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht participated through video link.

Chief Minister Usman Bazdar reck-oned that the government was ready to hold local bodies elections.
With party-based elections, genuine leadership will emerge at the grassroots and direct elections will bring about real change in local bodies politics, he argued.
PTI would field strong candidates for the local bodies elections, he commented and told that sincere and strong candi-dates would be chosen from the party after consultations.
The new local gov-ernment Act would resolve the prob-lems of the people at their doorstep, he further said.
