Red Crescent Society (RCS) officials in northeast-ern Kunduz province say 94 cases of Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), or a hole in the heart, have been reported in the province so far this solar year.
In an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, Mohammad Reza Naseri, head of RCS in Kunduz, said that 94 VSD patients had been diag-nosed in the province so far this solar year and sent to capital Kabul for better treatment.
Naseri said RCS provided health services in the areas of VSD, burns, bone and other diseases. However, he said Kunduz province was currently facing a shortage of medicine and government offi-cials should to address the problem.— Pajhwo
