Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Sirajul Haq while rejecting the mini-budget has called a meeting of the central leadership at Mansoora on Saturday to discuss the prevailing situation of the country.
In a statement issued here on Friday, he said, “We will not sit silent on anti-people policies of the government.” Sirajul Haq said the economy was on the verge of collapse due to ill-planning of the PTI. He said the government had make full surrender before the IMF for one billion dollars.
The government, he believed, would become ready to impose taxes on air and light if the international monetary fund gave direction for it. He said the trade deficit had touched $25 billion in first six months of the current fiscal years. The rulers, he said, were planning to further increase electricity and gas tariff.
He said people could not afford meal for two times as the earning opportunities had vanished. Millions of youth were jobless and the promise of the prime minister to create jobs proved life, he added. Holding the former and present government equally responsible for the plight of the masses, Sirajul Haq said the feudal lords and corrupt capitalists were part of the three parties and they were least bothered about the miseries of common man.—INP
