Cold, dry weather expected

Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold in hilly areas during the next twelve hours.

Dense fog is likely to occur in upper Sindh and plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Temperature of some major cities recorded on Tuesday.

Islamabad and Peshawar five degree centigrade, Lahore eight, Karachi twelve, Quetta minus one, Gilgit and Muzaffarabad two and Murree minus two degree centigrade.

According to Met office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy and very cold weather is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anatnag, Shopian and Baramula while cold, dry and foggy in Jammu. Temperature recorded this morning: Srinagar, Pulwama and Baramula minus three degree centigrade, Jammu six, Leh minus fourteen, Anantnag and Shopian minus two degree centigrade.

Dense fog is likely to prevail in upper Sindh, plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Frost is expected in Islamabad and Potohar region during morning hours. According to the synoptic situation, continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold in hilly areas on Wednesday. —APP
