Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has talked about the burning issue of Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) that has been promulgated through a Presidential Ordinance over the Pakistan Medical and Dental Association (PDMC). PMA has in this very context held a press conference at the PMA House, Friday.
In the press conference, the PMA speakers while addressing the media fraternity said that they call for their strong support in favour of the burning issue of (PMDC). They said that as the media fraternity is aware that very often, PMA always try to keep informing the medical fraternity and the whole nation at large about happenings in the PMDC, the regulatory body for registration of doctors and responsible for regulating medical education.
They said that the present government has promulgated two ordinances on Oct 19, 2019, replacing the name from PMDC to PMC and formation of the Medical Tribunal. PMA rejected those ordinances the day they were promulgated. On Nov 11, 2019, government presented 11 ordinances including PMC Ordinance and the Medical Tribunal 2019, in the lower house of the Parliament in haste and eventually all these ordinances were bulldozed despite a lot of agitation from opposition parties.
