Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister visits RCCI

On the sidelines of the 17th extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers, Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister Dr Aibek Artekbayev and Ambassador Ulanbek Totuiaev visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on Monday.

According to a statement issued Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister Dr Aibek Artykbaev exchanged views on bilateral importance and trade relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan and stressed enhancing the exchange of delegations at the Chamber level.

He said that Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan had deep friendly relations, adding the volume of bilateral trade could be further increased from the current level of 1.8 million dollars.

On this occasion, the Chamber President Nadeem Rauf gave a detailed briefing to the Deputy Foreign Minister on the ongoing activities of the Chamber and future programs.

He said that there was vast potential in the tourism sector for enhancing bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan and urged for direct flights between the two countries.

Nadeem said that there was a need to increase bilateral trade links and suggested networking at the Chamber of Commerce level. He said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was an important route, and Pakistan had offered access to the Central Asian states for the shortest and easy passage through Karachi and Gwadar ports.

In the end, President Nadeem Rauf thanked the delegation and presented chamber memento to Deputy Foreign Minister Aibek Artykbaev.
