Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours.
However, very cold weather is expected in Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and districts of north Balochistan. Dense smog and fog are likely in plain areas of Punjab.
Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning: Islamabad two degree centigrade, Lahore seven, Karachi fourteen, Peshawar five, Quetta minus five, Gilgit minus four, Murree zero and Muzaffarabad one degree centigrade.
According to Met office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir, partly cloudy and cold weather during evening and night is expected in the territory.
Temperature recorded this morning: Srinagar, Pulwama and Shopian minus two degree centigrade, Jammu seven, Leh minus nine, Anantnag and Baramula minus three degree centigrade.
Meanwhile after severity in cold weather, the authorities have closed down 281 schools in Mansehra district for three days to provide relief to the students.
According to a notification issued from the District Education Office all 215 schools located in union councils Kaghan, Bangrai, Mahandri and Kavai of Balakot and 66 schools of Jabrail and Kot Battal will remained closed till 18th December.—APP
