Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Senator Sirajul Haq has said the prime minister’s criticism on the judiciary creates an environment of clash among the institutions. In a statement issued from JI headquarters Mansoora on Thursday, Sirajul Haq said the Chief Justice’s remarks was an eye opener for the rulers, adding the top judge basically showed the mirror to the prime minister that it was not the court but the government which allowed the PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to go abroad for the treatment.
He regretted that it was the first time that a prime minister openly criticized the courts. If a chief executive of the country would himself make such remarks about an institution, what impacts it will leave on the common people, he questioned. The sensitivity of the matter, he said, compelled the judiciary to itself clarify its position. Now, he added, it was duty of the government to admit the truth on Nawaz Sharif matter.
The JI chief said the government was intentionally creating a situation of clash and political instability, realizing the fact that it failed to perform in any sector. The PTI, he added, even failed to fulfill its basic promise of strengthening the institution of accountability in the country. He said that the anti-corruption drive had created a strong impression of political victimization as the rulers failed to build a strong and impartial accountability watchdog.
