Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has failed to give tough time to government through tendering resignations, holding of Long March and Sit-inns, tabling no-confidence motion etc. For the last one and half year nothing important has been done by the PDM leadership.

Apparently, it seems nothing more than dodging one another. PPP was in alliance, PDM leadership repeatedly by discussing the issue of resignations forced PPP’s leadership to part its ways.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that his party had joined PDM to force Prime Minister Imran Khan to resign from his office but unfortunately PDM leadership has started trapping PPP to resign.

Now, when Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazal Ur Rehman (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman has convened all opposition parties once again under the umbrella of PDM. The echo of tendering resignations has started once again in PDM from PML (N) side.

It is worth mentioning here that in the recent past PDM through former Prime Minister and PML (N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had issued a show-cause notice to PPP leadership for allegedly being had connived with the government.

Now ML (N) has conditionalized resignations with the PPP’s leadership resignations saying that PPP should resign first from the government since only resignations from PML (N) would be good for nothing.

In the meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif has taken a new stance demanding the formation of a new alliance within the Parliament other than PDM to give tough time to the government in parliament. He is of the view that PDM was for the political activities outside the parliament.

He believes that by doing politics within parliament Opposition parties could play better than of taking to the streets and roads.

The reason behind the avoiding the taking to the street by PML (N) is very much clear that it has restored its connection with some influential quarters.

Actually, PML (N) is conveying its message to the quarters concerned that its leadership does not want the politics of confrontation but it wants to play its due role in politics peacefully. Complete silence from Maryam Nawas Sharif’s side is also one of the gestures to end the politics of confrontation and protests.

Apparently, she is engaged in the wedding ceremony of her son and she is totally out of touch with politics, her Twitter is also silent which is very vocal all the time.

Keeping in view the above said situation one can say that the resignation politics of Mualana Fazal ur Rehman is not moving forward purely because of PML (N)’s own politics not due to PPP leadership.
