Karachi Vocational Training Centre (KVTC) celebrates inclusion and empowerment of the differently abled with renowned experts from health and education sector A conference was held at the Karachi Vocational Training Centre to highlight issues and challenges faced by the differently-abled community.
The guests were welcomed by Ms. Farheen Amir – Director Administration, Mr. Amir Shahab – Director Rehabilitation, Ms. Sana Ayaz – Principal and other Managing Committee Members Ms. Sabeen Waqar, Mr. Imran Sohail, Ms. Aleena Fatima, and Dr. Reema Sajjad.
The conference was attended by famous psychiatrist, psychologists, mental health experts, philanthropists, and personalities from corporate sectors.Mental Health Specialist Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Afridi – Psychiatrist & Dean JSMU, JPMC & CPSP, Dr. Majid Ali Abidi, Psychiatrist – Hamdard University Hospital, Ms. Neelum Zehra Vice Principal/HOD Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Ms. Shabnum Arshi is serving as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Professional Psychology Bahria University Karachi Campus, Dr. Shagufta Shehzadi Head of Special Education Karachi University, Ms. Marium Hanif Ghazi – Psychologist/HOD MAJU, Dr. Raheela Khatoon – Senior speech therapist ICP, and Ms. Samar Naqvi CEO – Karachi Down Syndrome Program was among the panelist.
Ms. Isma Khan (BCBA), founder of ABA Therapy Centre I-Kare, Ms. Faiza Savul Head of Centre of Expertise – HR at KElectric, and Ms. Sawera Saleem were the keynote speakers at the conference.CEO of KVTC Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan along with Dr. Akhtar Aziz Khan – President KVTC and other General Body Members Dr. Imran Yousuf – Mind Science Expert, Mr. Khalid Mir, and Qaysar Alam thanked the panelists, speakers, and guests for coming and appreciating KVTC’s efforts for the differently-abled.
The speakers call for the inclusion and participation of persons with special needs in society. They urge the need for more inclusion, awareness, and understanding towards the people with special needs.
