Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul on Monday refuted Member National Assembly Riaz Fatyana’s statement of claiming her quarrel with SAPM Malik Amin Aslam as reason for her return to Pakistan amid COP-26 meeting held at Glasgow, Scotland.

Talking to media persons at the Parliament, the minister gave her maiden response against the alle-gations of MNA Riaz Fatyana who had been served a show-cause notice by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for mudslinging against two members of the Federal cabinet.

She said, “I have only travelled to Australia as a state guest where I personally bore the expenses of my visit along with my family.

I can present record and proofs for my visit.” “The committee members have raised objections of certain delegation mem-bers for taking their families with them at COP-26. They should also present their proofs and invoices, like me, of the expenses for their visit,” she added.

The standing national assembly standing committee on climate change today has decided to launch a probe into the allegations of a brawl between the two government officials which was vehemently denied by Ms Zartaj Gul.

The committee sought the details of all the members which went to attend the global conference in Scotland.

The committee expressed its displeasure over the performance of Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA).

The committee was of the view that smog has totally disturb the lives in Punjab where visibility was very poor.

Chairperson of the committee expressed serious concern over absence of DG Environment Punjab and could not allow other official of the Punjab to brief the committee.
