Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Afzaal Ahmad Kausar has finalized a new patrolling plan covering all sectors of the city with a purpose to secure the city.
DIG (Operations) has said that 66 motorbikes and 20 vehicles are being deputed in different areas of the city.
The purpose of this patrolling plan is to curb street crime, incidents of house theft and curb bike as well as car lifting incidents.
Following the directions of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman, he said that efforts are underway to ensure effective policing in the city and secure lives of people.
While briefing officials on Friday, he said that all officials will be in proper uniform during duty hours. He said that checking would also be conducted by erecting pickets at entry and exit points of residential areas, who would ensure checking of suspected and stolen vehicles, motorcycles and suspected persons.
Zonal SPs will check the performance of the halting points and will submit report on daily bases adding that the officials with good performance would be rewarded.
DIG said that in an emergency situation, the concerned SP will call SDPO, patrolling officers on the incident place and will generate a comprehensive report.
He hoped that desired results would be achieved and citizens to feel more secure through this plan.
