The Punjab government has decided to hold the local government elections in phases as ministers have suggested the provincial government to conduct the LG elections during the first phase in areas where the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf is strong.
Sources informed on Wednesday that the Election Commission of Pakistan suggested to hold local government polls in two phases.
The sources further revealed it was suggested that in the first phase, the LG polls be held in South Punjab, in the second phase in North Punjab and in the last phase in Central Punjab.
